Drexel Partners with Lower Bucks to Create Green Jobs

An economic shot in the arm is coming for Lower Bucks County where Drexel University has announced plans for a small business “incubator” targeting green energy start-ups.

Drexel has plans to take another 15,000 square feet of space at the Bridge Business Center in Bristol Township to attract companies that will bring green jobs to the area. A developer is rehabbing several buildings on the site of the old Rohm and Haas location.
Congressman Patrick Murphy, who is helping Drexel move forward, says the benefits are two-fold including less dependence on foreign oil:

“One, our dependence hurts our national security, but secondly it’s a jobs issue, we need to start making things in our country again and putting people back to work.”

The business incubator is modeled after a similar program Drexel launched in Camden a decade ago. That center now employs more than 300 workers in over 100 companies. Murphy believes Bristol can do better.
